  1. Great location and staff.

We stayed in room 313. This room faces the village and there is a nice view of easy street and the village center. The room is quite large and has a kitchenette with microwave, two burner stove along with a toaster and a good variety of pots and pans. There is a large bathroom with a bath and shower. There is underground parking, a hot tub and sauna. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is conveniently located next to the gondola and ticket center. We will defiantly stay at the White Crystal I in the future.

  2. Canu2019t beat the location!

Pros:n- Excellent location. Truly ski in/ski out. Right in the village next to Lara’s gondola. Once your car is parked (free parking), there is never a need to drive anywhere. Just ski down to the lifts!n- Room 209 is a spacious 2 bedroom unit. Each bedroom had its own bathroom. One bedroom had a king size bed which was very comfortable and the other room had 2 queen beds.n- Ski locker to store skis/snowboards. The hotel will loan you ski locks.n- Daily maid service. It was nice not to make beds everyday.n- For groceries, we ordered on the Save-On-Foods (saveonfoods.com) website and they delivered to the Crystal White I . For same day delivery, order before 8am ($10 delivery fee) and if you are not present to accept the order, no worries! The staff at the Crystal White I will bring it to your room and put the perishable items in the fridge. Do not get food at the Market Deli as you will seriously get ripped off and the choices are severely limited. Follow my advice!n- Bull Wheel restaurant in the lobby level of the hotel if you need a bite but don’t want to venture out into the frigid temperatures!nCons:n – No washer/dryer in unit. There is a laundry room in the parking garage area. Coin operated washing machine/dryer. The front desk will give you change and they sell individual boxes of Tide/Bounce. Overall, comfortable accommodations and you really can’t beat the location. If you are looking for a 4-5 star hotel experience, then this may not be the right choice for you. I would stay here again for sure!

  3. Great location

     (4 / 5)

Stayed here for 2 weeks recently. The hotel is in a prime position where you can ski in ski out as it is based at the end of Easy Street. The town gondola is right next door and the Bullet lift is just around the corner. The staff were really pleasant and helpful. There are a variety of rooms available, we were in room 108. The kitchenette had a microwave (very low power), 2 tiny gas burners, a kettle, toaster and coffee machine. You couldn’t really cook anything fancy but it was ideal for breakfasts or snacks. The beds were a Murphy bed and a sofa bed (we actually requested 2 Queen beds but it seems these were not available). There were too many pieces of furniture to manoeuvre around the Murphy bed and the sofa bed was extremely uncomfortable. This was remedied by placing the Murphy bed mattress on top of the sofa bed mattress and leaving this in situ thereby being able to use the table and chairs adjoining the Murphy bed. The gas fire was great and easily controlled, we had to turn the thermostat right down though during the night as it was very noisy every time it came on. The room service was good although it was hit and miss with the toiletries and coffee on some days. The hotel was kept very clean and tidy. There was ample room in the ski locker room and boots are kept in the bedrooms so they were nice and warm every morning. The bar was very good and had a great atmosphere and the restaurant was also good for both breakfasts and evening meals. The breakfast bagels and cappuccino were extremely good and very reasonably priced. Would stay here again.

  4. Excellent location, room and staffs

     (5 / 5)

We just spent 10 nights at White Crystal I . Our room (311) is excellent, neat, quiet and clean. Heating (with a gas fireplace) is excellent. The kitchenette is remarkably well equipped and we ate in most nights. The bathroom is large and clean. The staffs (front desk, cleaning staffs) are all friendly and helpful. If we return to Big White, we would certainly stay in White Crystal I again, preferably the same room. (We left today and arrive in Sun Peak Grand in Sun Peak. The check-in staff is unfriendly, unclear and stern faced. How we miss the White Crystal I just after a few hours !) The only reservation we have is that the food quality of the restaurant (Bull Wheel) attached to White Crystal I (which I gather is a separate business) is simply no good. The ‘chef’ could not even handle classic Canadian dish of pan cake with maple syrup. The pan cakes looked and tasted tough and stale. The spaghetti and meatball dish was also heavily salted. So that restaurant failed us both for breakfast and di er. Luckily, the supermarket is 100 meters down the road.

  5. Kicking off the 2017-2018 Season right !

     (5 / 5)

I am new to BC., and had a couple of days free, so I took advantage of a special offer for a room and tickets for their opening week-end. I arrived first thing in the morning of opening day and it was pouring down rain ! I had the warmest greeting from Cassie & Dillon upon entering the lobby. Everything was already printed out and ready to go for my reservation. I enjoyed using the locker room to store my skis, and the ski in/ski out door on the first floor to get me to the trails easily. Because it was my first time there, I had a lot of questions. If the team didn’t know the answer, they found out and got back to me. My room was spacious and overlooked the main trail coming thru the village. Harry was very helpful in getting my bags up to the room and very enthusiastic about working at the resort. Whenever I met any of these people over the next 3 days, they all remembered my name ! The hot tub wasn’t working and the staff knew I wanted to use it. They followed up with me the next day and made a suggestion offering to take me to another hotel, so I could use the hot tub there. I declined but I feel they really cared about my experience and went the extra mile. The first night, I couldn’t get the television to work and a kind young women from the front desk came up and got it working for me. I believe her name was Tayla? Even though the conditions were not ideal and only one run was open, I feel I had a very positive experience at Big White and will return again. Thanks to everyone for making my week-end great. All the best for a great season.

  6. Wonderful location and great views.

     (5 / 5)

Stu ing views & superb ski – in ski – out. Modestly priced. Will definitely return. The skiing was amazing, both the snow & the great variety of terrain. Very central location on the mountain. Very comfortable and clean. Great food near by.

  7. Good ski in/ski out location, fairly average room.

     (4 / 5)

This hotel is located in the village at Big White resort. It offers ski in/ski out capability. nThe rooms are fairly average. There is a ski locker room just inside the door from the village side. The racks use locks that can be provided by the front desk. (These are not the typical American resort locks) These type of locking racks are in use throughout the mountain so I recommend you taking your lock with you for use while you are out, rather than locking up a rack to ‘reserve your space’. There is one elevator that is fairly slow. I had trouble finding stairs that didn’t leave you outside. Oddly this hotel still uses actual keys for the rooms instead of cards. The creates the old fashioned fumbling for the key routine. I stayed in a room with 2 queen beds. The room also had a small ‘kitchenette’. nThe service staff was excellent. As with the rest of the mountain the seasonal staff is primarily from Australia and Great Britain which added to the ‘international experience’.nGiven the hotels location, this is a great option for a stay at Big White. (I was traveling with a group so I am uncertain what the ‘individual cost’ would have been. However this appears to be a moderately priced hotel.)

  8. Great location, ski-in/out, garage parking.

     (4 / 5)

This was our first visit to Big White, and while their website was well-designed and informative, we decided to book the hotel and ski activities over the phone. Their call center appears centralized and can arrange stays at most of the lodgings at Big White. I should first comment how impressed I was the call center staff. We made our arrangements about 6 months in advance, and made several changes before our trip, and every time we called, the call center staff were competent, knowledgeable, and helpful. We ended up selecting the White Crystal I , which appeared to be one of the more basic hotels with ski-in/out. There were no negative surprises on arrival. The hotel was conveniently located and the building had an indoor parking garage (we rented a car at Kelowna Intl.) which was free, and our unit had 2 Queen beds, mini fridge, with a very standard hotel layout. The hotel also has a few larger suites with kitchen, but we decided to stick with the basic options for our first time. Skiing was very convenient, as the ski exit enters on a short run to the main lift, and there is a convenient ski locker area at the ski entrance, so we don’t have to lug our equipment back and forth. The resort is great for families, with lots to do at night. We also enjoyed the restaurants we visited throughout the resort, and look forward to visiting again.

  9. Ski trip

     (5 / 5)

Very good room, basic cooking facilities, but sufficient for our needs. Good TV and wi-fi service. Room service good. Good service in the bar/restaurant. Great ski-in, ski-out position. Nice views over mountain. More than happy to return .

  10. Can't beat the location!

     (4 / 5)

Last minute booking so we didn’t have a choice of accommodations. Stayed in 2 rooms at the White Crystal. It’s equivalent to a motel. Two beds, desk, small bathroom and a mini-fridge. A little noisy from the ‘street’ traffic but the village is so small and relatively quiet. Ski locker room does not have enough spaces to store and lock your skis. The adjacent restaurant is fair. The location is true ski in/out and is steps from the ski school and gondola and across from the Woods restaurant. I would stay here again for the convenience. Would be great if they had a room with a kitchen then we wouldn’t have to go out to eat all the time.
