  1. Something a little different!

     (4 / 5)

We knew going in that this motel would not be a 5 star! We read the reviews, decided to take a chance on it and were pleasantly surprised. The motel is old, rooms smell a bit musty but it was clean, quirky and quaint! The blinds on the front door window had 1 missing so we fixed it. There was only 1 light working in the bathroom and we did ask twice to get another but never got it. (the lights were a string of about 6). Room was made up every day with new towels but the bed was only made once in our 5 night stay. Motel is right across from a mission with homeless but they didn’t bother us at all. That’s the bad, now the good. Grounds were immaculate, pool was cleaned on our 2nd day. Room was clean and comfortable. Air conditioner was a bit hard for us short people to get at as it’s mounted high in the room. Management was kind, relaxed and very approachable. It was awesome having a bbq right outside that we could use. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and for the price, it was awesome. Thanks Lorna for the chats and can’t wait to see your upgrades that you were talking about.

  2. Great value, fun time!

A good family-friendly hotel, great location and really clean. Prices were excellent and the staff very friendly. We forgot our phone charger in the room, and they were nice enough to mail it to us! We’d stay here again, and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to others.

  3. Dog friendly; Clean; Convenient

Old fashioned style– so if you’re used to staying in big chain hotels you might be disappointed, but as an old style motel it was very clean. I found the bed comfortable and the location was easy to find. Downsides: the thin ceiling made it sure seem like the folks upstairs were practicing ballroom dancing (seriously how much walking around can one do in a motel room???) Also, the neighborhood was a little sketchy– we were approached by homeless guy in the parking lot that didn’t want to take no for an answer (he was still rather polite– even said our US funds would be fine – lol). Checking in was easy and folks there were very casual and friendly. All in all, if you’ve been staying in a Motel 6 you would find this place a definite step up.

  4. Quirky & spacious motel with pool!

     (5 / 5)

I loved this place! It’s quirky, spacious & clean. It’s a motel which I hadn’t realised, I thought it was a hotel. Each room has a balcony. There is a beautiful garden/patio & heated pool out the back with BBQs & seating. The owner lives on site and seems really helpful. It’s a convenient location & within walking distance of a cinema, restaurants & shops. It’s a bit rusty round the edges but that’s the only negative thing I can say. Well worth a visit if you’re in Vernon!

  5. Best bang for your buck

A gem what a cute motel, best sevice clean rooms. Can’t get any better for this price range. Have been staying here for years and would recommend to anyone. Courtyard and pool are one of a kind. Very family friendly

  6. Hard to rate, lol

     (3 / 5)

Well here is the problem, if you are expecting a one or two star motel, then it’s excellent and should get five stars. However, if you are expecting an average motel on the edge of town, then it’s exactly that, an average cheap motel on the edge of town. The room we were in is awkwardly laid out. The only baseboard heater in the suite was in the bedroom, so THAT room was probably 30 degrees, while the rest of the suite was 20. My buddy said it was like sleeping in a sauna, lol. Tiles are cracked and broken in the bathroom. The front door is sticky and hard to close. Sink faucet leaks badly; they had to put a bucket under the sink so it didn’t flood the area. Walls are thin, we can hear some people yelling something at each other. The shower water pressure is reasonable but the fixture was pretty messed up and basically broken. Decor is tacky, but hey, what did you expect for a place called Tiki Village. Price is tolerable and it’s conveniently located. Walking distance to a bunch of really good food like Marten Brew Pub and Station BBQ. 30 minute drive to the ski hill. Pretty much served our needs. Would I recommend it? Well, if you can afford more, go somewhere else. If you would like entry level pricing, then this would work for you.

  7. Reasonable Priced for the Okanogan

     (4 / 5)

We stayed here in August and it was reasonably priced for the summer for the area. Very clean, lovely balcony with lots of chairs overlooking the courtyard, microwave and fridge in the room, refreshing swimming poo. Unfortunately, though, not very soundproof. We would definitely stay again though!

  8. We like the back yard

     (4 / 5)

The i is a bit old but maintained well, clean and simple. We enjoyed the most was the backyard. When opened the slide door, never saw in any Canadian hotels, motels or i s, quite a exotic setting in front of us. Staffs were extremely friendly. Knowing we have kids, she recommended a petting zoo like park to us.
