  2. Lakeside at Lake Okenagen

     (4 / 5)

We have stayed at this resort several times over the past many years, including an extremely memorable stay on 9/11/2001. It has always been one of our favorite places to stay when traveling north up Hwy 97 from Oregon into BC. We had not been to Penticton for a few years and I was a little concerned on this particular trip after reading a few of the comments on TripAdvisor that suggested it had lost some of it’s allure. However, after our recent stay I am pleased to recommend the Lakeside to anyone who is pla ing a trip to the Okenagen and Penticton. While the rooms are slightly worn, they have been upgraded and well furnished. The view of the lake from the lake side rooms is amazing. The only negative we found was that the lip on the glider leading out to the lanai is at such a height and angle that it could be a real tripping hazard and could present a real danger to elderly or physically challenged guests.

  3. Good summer spot

     (3 / 5)

We stayed for a couple of nights and did wine tours in the area in Sep. and it is perfectly located for that. However the place does camping, RV’s and a motel so I can only comment on the Motel part. To me it was well worn and had that old motel odor to it. I know this is a lakeside place and that you must expect that but this was just OK, and not better than that. It is a beautiful setting on the lake and as an RV stay it would be very good I am sure.

  4. Lake is Great!

     (4 / 5)

The lake is great. The facilities are quite nice. There is even a small motel like setting with nice rooms. The camping is pretty much wide open. There are no trees or spaces between sites. There is a fair amount of trees for shade in the morning or late afternoon. The lake front is at the south end of the lake, so the sun is slightly at your back when you look out on the lake. PERFECT! If you’ve ever spent time on a lake at the north or east side…late in the day is very bright and very hot, as the sun not only hits your directly but bounces off the lake too. All in, it’s a great stay. A perfect place for kids. The lake is shallow in front of the resort, so you have to go out about 50 to 70 yards to be over your head. That’s a lot of safe space for kids to play and timid swimmers to cool off in. For me, the ultimate question is always, ‘would I go back’? nYes I will.

  5. Excellent views, staff, accomodations

     (5 / 5)

I’ve been here off and on since I was 10 years old…rarely can you return to a place that is as charming, quiet, fantastic views, swimming, and a wonderful town nearby with art, bike trails, wineries and friendly people.

  6. Family friendly campsite

     (5 / 5)

We started going there in 2016 to join our sons and their families whom have been going for 10 years. While tenting isn’t for us, we stayed in the rustic motel units. While the families stayed in trailers. One son owns his trailer, the other rents from a local company who sets it up and takes it away. They also have cabana’s. The washrooms are clean and have lots of hot water. I have never used the laundry facility but our kids do and never complained about it. The lake is great for all. You can walk a long way out before it gets deep. Perfect for little ones. They have a park on site and one next door. There is a cabana with a hot tub. BBQs for the motel guests. They plan out activities such as sandcastle competition, candy day and twice a week a lady comes with her Amazing baking. A nice walk to the local ice cream shop is always a great way to spend the evening. Our kids love it’s close to wineries and orchards.

  7. Great campground, beautiful lake.

     (4 / 5)

We tent camped here for a week over the summer holidays this year. The stand is compact and there’s no real separation between stands. But the grass is green and lush and the washrooms clean and well maintained. The sites have water and electricity and, since they are on the town water system, the taps by the sites have potable water. The showers cost a dollar for 5min – easy to use and a life saver after a sundrenched day in the water. The staff are universally friendly and helpful and it’s a very easy going site with kids playing and biking all over. The beach is nice with sand and grass verges to cater for all preferences. There are chalets you can rent in addition to the RV and renting stands in the resort. This summer the water in the lake was pleasant to play in and the kids spent hours on their floaties.

  8. Camping under beautiful trees!

     (5 / 5)

We have been coming to this resort since 1982, first as a young family, then as an ’empty-nester’ couple and this year as grandparents with grandchildren along. This resort is very family friendly. We camped with a trailer and our son and his family used the hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, dong everything possible for our comfort and satisfaction. The common washrooms were very clean. The lake is shallow a long ways out, so perfect for little kids. Motor boats and seadoos are not allowed on the lake so it’s quiet. Good for windsurfing, canoeing.

  9. Good camping spot

     (4 / 5)

We go camping every year, and this year we decided to try something new. We heard about this campsite from some of our friends who have been going to this campsite for the past 5 years, so we have decided to try it out. nThe office staff has been very kind to us. When we first got there, they told us that check-in was at 2 o’clock, but we have arrived earlier. They first said that we have to wait, but after some more time, they let us in, even before 2 o’clock.nThe resort has a few camping spots available, and some rooms available for rent, so it doesn’t matter if you don’t like camping, there are rooms available.nThe lake is super close, a 1-minute walk from our campsite, and is not very hot, nor is it too cold. There are fish in the lake, but not to worry because, during the day, they’re on the opposite side of the lake. nThe resort is in Oliver, in between Penticton, which is North, and Osoyoos, which is South, which means that there are a lot of places to visit in the 3 cities. We could usually go to Penticton as it is bigger than Osoyoos and has more stuff to do.

  10. Comfy cozy family resort

     (3 / 5)

Not what we expected but was satisfied with the two nights we stayed .It is very much a family resort , not a romantic get away, unless you like the rustic style .nThey also have places to camp and sleeping quarters under cover.
