My Wife and I took our in Law out for Dinner. We ordered Prime Rib and it came with some Bread and Butter as entree. At least I thought it was Butter being the one most expensive Restaurants in Town. I buttered my Bun with what looked like whipped Butter and started to eat it, Since it did not really taste like Butter and I am allergic to Margarine I asked another Waitress if it was Butter or Margarine she replied Margarine. Upon I was questioned and embarrassed by one of the Managers and I told them that they should inform customers of the unusual use of Margarine in a high profile Restaurant exclaiming that you even get butter from Mc Donald. Then our Meal arrived we eat but I never got my Butter likely they did not have any although I was asked if I wanted some. They pride themselves to print on their Menu GF Gluten Free yet they serve Margarine, but don’t dare to print this on their Menu? Oh and the sparingly mostly decorative Vegetable was raw. The Washrooms had no privacy Divider between the 2 Urinals and the Soap dispenser was empty, cleanness was questionable but acceptable. A year ago we went there and had similar Problems and vowed not to return but we had been given some Gift Cards and thought we try it again. Then we ordered the lighter side of prime rib that came with "COLD" deep fried onions that were saturated with cold Fryer Oil apparently this is still the way they serve them. What would you say if you got a bunch of COLD Onion Rings from A&W or any of the other Fast Food Places? Not sure about the Management nor their Cooks. On a Positive Note the Prime Rib as promised was medium Rare, tender and tasty which I conveyed to our Waitress. Would I go Back ? NO. If I want a good Prime Rib Dinner and quality Food I go to the Asian Pear. A group of 35 of our Staff had our Christmas Dinner there and were extremely satisfied. Am I qualified to food criticism? Yes I do have served a 3 Year apprenticeship as a Cook at the Age of 16 in Europe where you are required to have your Papers.

We traveled to Kelowna for a Christmas wedding Dec 27-31 and we stayed at the Sandman and spotted the Keg a block away…one of our all time favs for decades. What a great new location, so much better than downtown.. ice and fresh and new and parking! We showed up there on Thursday around 4:30 p.m. after we checked into the hotel and did not have reservations. We were seated immediately. Michelle was our server and she was lovely, helpful, efficient and she even laughed at my jokes! She recommended the lobster gratinee which was SO delicious! And she took care to point out the proper cooking of the steaks. We all had our usual, teriyaki sirloin and the steaks were cooked to perfection, juicy and flavourful. It was so, so good after our long drive and so nice that the new location was so close to our hotel. The restaurant was very busy and we enjoyed a relaxing non-rushed couple of hours and sipped a bottle of Concannun Pinot Noir…what a great meal! We came back again on Sunday for the same meal and thumbs way up again! Thanks Keg!

  3. Tasty prime rib

Second visit in a month, hadn’t been to the Keg in at least a decade. Got prime rib both times. Delicious and served with a twice baked potato. Mmm. I wouldn’t say anything on the menu is super creative or out of the ordinary but the food was consistent and delicious both times. My husband and I ordered the prime rib 10oz and his was about half the size of mine. The kitchen quickly rectified this once we pointed it out to the server. Service was excellent otherwise and our server in the lounge area was very sweet with our son.

Had my birthday dinner there on Sunday night, received a complimentary dessert, very nice gesture. The food with the vast menu selections was hot and very tastey. My steak was done perfectly as were the fresh veggies and potatoes. Our server was very personable and looked after as bery well. I have nothing but good praise from the minute we arrived till we departed. The wine selection is good with lots lof loacal VQA local BC wines.

My fave Teriyaki Sirloin and potato were perfect 100%. Excellent place to get your belly full and relax. Go!

  7. Talk about overpriced !!

     (3 / 5)

The food here is good, I just can’t fathom why this restaurant finds it necessary to charge $ 19.00 for a cheeseburger and a few fries. I’m very familiar with the food business and I would give an educated guess that the actual food cost on their burger and fries would be no more that $5.00. I’ve had bigger and better burgers in town for half the price.

  8. Great dinner

Had a birthday dinner at The Keg on Saturday evening, absolutely extraordinary dining experience, fantastic service from the greeting at the door to sit down at the table to Kitchen to exit

  9. Love the Keg

Never have I had a bad steak at the Keg. I order it Chicago medium and they get it perfect each time, Long Island ice tea is the best around. Large seating area and still no long waits. Perfect service, thanks!!

  10. Food + Service=Winner!

This restaurant combines a perfect balance of delicious food and ample choices, an elegant atmosphere, and impeccable service. Our waitress, Brittany, made the time extra special. She was attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to take care of our party of 6. This is a great venue for that special night out, but reservations are recommended as it’s a busy place!
