  1. They made my stay feel like home

     (5 / 5)

I was at the Sandman for an extended stay and the staff were very friendly both towards myself and my cat. When I needed something they provided it right away. They answered my questions in a professional and friendly ma er. The rooms were clean and it had an indoor pool that I definitely used. And they made my cat feel like a princess. For me, it is very important they treat my cat like that. I would stay there again.

  2. Excellent Sandman in Vernon

     (5 / 5)

We were most impressed with this Sandman in Vernon. Friendly accommodating front desk staff, cleaned rooms and perfect location middle of the Main Street 32nd Street. Nothing was too much trouble & De ys will deliver to your room!

  3. Great Stay

     (4 / 5)

Front desk staff were very friendly and happy to provide an early check-in. Rooms were clean and modernly updated. Only stayed 1 night, but was a great stay. Parking was a challenge when i returned to hotel in the evening. Next visit i would leave car and take taxi or get a ride with a friend.

  4. Understated Elegance - Gracious Staff

     (4 / 5)

Matt the manager of the Sandman I is intuitive and anticipates your every need. Staff such as Kathy are gracious – which is rare in the lodging industry in this area. The style at this i is on-point the urns by the pool with silk grasses are staged elegantly and the details are thoughtful in the property. Even the finishings and furnishings are classic with a twist – on trend, without being trendy. Style can’t be bought – and this place has it in every choice being made. I LOVE the Sandman chain – understated, efficient, and charming from every angle.

  5. Business Trip

     (4 / 5)

Good location, has everything you need for a night or two stay.nAlso perfect next to De y’s to grab something to eat.Managed to get a room upgrade to have a kitchenette.Bed and room very comfortable.

  6. Clean, reasonably quiet, half decent price BUT...

     (3 / 5)

How in this day and age does a so called premier hotel, (they call themselves here that), not have high def cha els and just have SD and limited at that on cha els offered and not have a hot tub in a hotel this size! Check in clerk nice though. So a bit of a saving grace with him. PLUS…no discount at De ys which is apart of hotel…? I really did book to get some sort of discount for breakfast and only assumed there would be and assumed a hot tub here like most/all other Sandman locations out there. I even arrived in my swim trunks and then looked the fool when I was told NO hot tub. Room clean though and seems quiet, so far. But 2.5 is all I can give as a rating.

  7. Studio Kitchen 2 Doubles

     (4 / 5)

When I first checked in, I was given a ‘Studio Kitchenette’ on the second floor of the main building. The main building doesn’t have an elevator, so this is something you should ask before booking if you require an elevator to get to your room. As soon as I discovered that this is not the room I booked, I went back downstairs and the receptionist was busy helping another customer. The manager, Matt came out and help me. He reassigned me to my correct room that I booked. Can’t express how helpful, polite and professional Matt was. Now why I gave Sandman I 4 star is b/c this review can go either way…a 3 star or a 5 star, depends on how I feel. I could go toward hater will hate and bash the hotel, or see the positives and give it 5 star. The real negative is the A/C, with global warming, the A/C in the room might not be strong enough for such a large room. Also the A/C is really loud, so if you’re a light sleeper, you better bring ear plugs. The hotel does provide a fan in the room, which helps circulate the A/C. This is not a negative, but something for some travelers to keep in mind, Sandman I will put a $600 (hold) damage deposit onto your credit card. So if you have a low limit credit card, or close to maxing it out; the last thing you want is to go to a restaurant and have your card decline. If you book the Studio Kitchen, and decide to do some cooking. Safeway is within walking distance (3 to 5 minute walk), also a M&M meat (sell frozen food). Also if you forgot anything there is a Dollarama and a London Drugs in the same strip mall. If you don’t like De y’s, White Spot is also located in this strip mall. The only thing I used in the room is the toaster and the stove, all I can say is that the toaster is functional and does the job. The stove is 24 inch, and the coil burner are just strong enough to boil water….I don’t think it’s strong enough to do deep frying or wok cooking….with that being said for safety reason, I’m glad it’s doesn’t it. Oh, the room does provide a fire extinguisher. I posted a picture of a list of things that is suppose to be included in the room. Fu y I just looked at the picture now, and I only got 2 out 3 pots. I hope I don’t end up paying $600 for the missing pot 🙂 I did see the cutting board and dish rack under the sink, didn’t take a picture of the cutting board, but it was ‘well used’, and it’s the same board you can get at the Dollorama. I guess I should have done an inventory check when I first arrived (I’m too trusting)….I’m sure one of the drawers must have all the other things mentioned, like forks, spoons, etc. but I can’t confirm that. This was a road trip, so I brought my own ‘picnic’ items (including 2 pots), so I only used the hotel toaster and stove.

  8. Unpla ed night

     (3 / 5)

We needed an urgent stopover due to medical reasons on our way home from The Okanagan. Not much choice this time of year and travelling with a dog. We took what we could get. nThe front desk people were pleasant enough. The lobby area was inviting. nOur room was at the back of the hotel. We were able to back our SUV and small utility trailer into a spot right by our window. Which gave us a bit of piece of mind. The back area is well lit at night but there is no video surveillance or security. Our trailer had been tampered with during the night. But nothing was missing.nThe room was very small with a queen bed. Nice and clean. A well equipped kitchenette and a little coffee maker with coffee supplies were a nice bonus, though we didn’t intend on using. Bathroom had a bath and toilet in a separate room with sink and closet on the out side, which I really like. nThe air conditioner was incredibly loud. We spent ages fiddling with it to get a comfortable temperature. But we did not succeed. The night was spent using cushions to deflect the A/C and when it did turn off for a few seconds, we were kicking the duvet off because we were too hot. We couldn’t hear the TV over the A/C. The TV had poor reception, too. nTo get to our room we entered through an exterior locked door at the top of about 5 steps. There was a narrow ramp to the right of the steps, too narrow for a wheelchair, but you still had a step to navigate to get to the ramp. Our small dog has back problems so I use a pet stroller with him if we are going any distance. So that ramp was helpful. There is a small grassy area behind the hotel to take your dog to relieve himself. nThere is also a railway track behind the hotel, according to the front desk only a couple of trains go through each week. nThere is a De y’s restaurant attached. We went into the restaurant to order supper to take back to our room. The food was good. nOverall, I would stay there again if the A/C could be sorted out.
