  1. Hockey tournament weekend done right!

     (4 / 5)

We were in town for a boys hockey tournament and had about 25 families staying in the hotel. The first floor rooms that lead to the hotel were great though it was very dark around the pool most of the day but the boys loved it. Around the pool needs a little maintenance as some boards were falling off and pooling water in places. Great service all around, great place for teams and a lot of local restaurants.

  2. Christmas winter wedding fun!

     (5 / 5)

We traveled from Alberta for a winter wedding to Kelowna and booked the Sandman as it was close to the Packing House wedding venue, our friends, the Orchard Park Mall and the Keg…yum! We stayed 4 wonderful glorious days Dec 27-31. What a fun way to spend the Christmas break! The hotel was close to everything, lots of parking in back for our 22 foot motor home and pet friendly for our black labrador. We settled right in for our stay. Hotel was nicely updated, clean, good ventilation system, good beds, and lovely atrium pool which we used several times. Reasonable rates…the staff were polite, helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our stay immensely, we highly recommend and would stay again in a heartbeat!

  3. Wonderful reception - very lovely clean room

     (5 / 5)

I had to make a last minute reservation called same day of arrival 10am – due a flight cancellation for a work trip and asked the hotel if it may be possible to check in early was hoping maybe 2pm and I could kill time at the mall across the street. Wow – they gave me the room at around 10:30 am!!! nThe room is lovely – king bed in executive tower.

  4. Returned for a short stay

     (4 / 5)

We have stayed at this hotel before and liked it well enough to come back. The rooms are nice and the staff is friendly. It is clean. However, the older we get the harder that the bed seems. And we had to carry our suitcases up a flight of stairs instead of having an elevator to use. There are other rooms with an elevator but they are in a bit higher price range. The location is right on Highway 97 but it is still quiet and across from the Orchard Park Mall so very convenient.

  5. Nice but...

     (3 / 5)

Was staying in town for a night with my boyfriend, and decided to book with the sandman cause what could go wrong.nOriginally booked a standard queen room, but got upgraded to a king room standard room then upgraded again to a king suite. so that was a wicked plus. Had noooo clue where the ice machine was located (no signs). The suite was so nice but one the sofa couches had a u201ccum like stain on itu201d. Over all besides the sofa was a great stay.

  6. Met our needs

Check in was a little confusing, although I did throw a bit of a curve showing up at 8 am in the morning … my room mate showed up the night before and I was delayed for our 2 night stay. A trainee was at check-in along with one other, so things were a bit slow (no issues … everyone has a first day). Room was basic. TV did not have high def cha els. Shower had good temperature and pressure. If you’re tall you’re going to have to stoop for the shower head – very low. Shower curtains do move and water goes on the floor, so watch where you leave your clothes while in the shower. Bed was comfortable and temperature of the room could be adjusted to suit the climate you like. Guest rooms either face the parking lot or the pool. Ours faced the pool so no natural light – no issue for us.

  7. Wouldnu2019t stay again.

We picked the sandman because I’ve had good experiences in the past and it was in a great location for us. nBut I don’t see my family staying there again. It was loud all night long. Kids ru ing down the halls and screaming, people partying outside and in the pool. It was so loud that it was near impossible to get my son to sleep. I wouldn’t suggest this hotel for a young family. Definitely a good vibe for a weekend with friends. The room itself was dark and cave-like. Run-down and in need of some care and attention. And it was overpriced and not worth what you got. Disappointed, but lesson learned.

  8. Okay stay, but we could do better

     (3 / 5)

We always stay at the Sandman in Richmond and in Squamish and have great experiences with those properties. It was because of that I book a night at the Sandman in Kelowna as we were passing through on our way to Banff. We stayed in the tower and the room was clean and comfortable. The place does have a very run down look about it though. We just found the whole experience here of trying to find the lobby, trying to find someplace to park to go into the lobby; then trying to find the entrance to the tower and a place to park frustrating. The layout of this place is horrible! Parking spaces are narrow and not large vehicle friendly! The fact that the desk clerk was not very helpful in giving directions didn’t help. If I had to stay here again I would, but now seeing other chains we like and their better location, better appearance, next time we will go there.
