  1. Step Back In Time

This old country farmhouse was a fun unexpected experience. The furnishings, guest rooms, and bathrooms were VERY basic. There is nothing fancy, no fluff, no TV or music and not much comfort so go in with an open mind! You are stepping back in time and that is the real treasure, if these walls could talk? This historical Mission house was built in 1909 in the oldest part of down town Misson Hills, Kalowna, B.C. then it was moved into the country and restored in 1998. You are actually visiting someone’s home while they stay in the basement. There are 4 basic sleeping quarters and 3 bathrooms a full kitchen, dining room and a great room with a mixture of antiques and eclectic artwork by a family member. Back in the day it was a hotel and later a B&B. The house was defiantly lived in, tidy but not shiny. Creaking floors with every step and slippers for your feet waiting for you at the front door. The wonderful porch is overlooking views of vineyard hills, and a pasture of sheep, and in the background you can hear a rooster crow. Its a great place to sit and relax or read a book. The grounds are not well manicured but it is country liven. Note: if you like coffee bring your coffee pot. Conveniently located and close enough to everything including wineries. (Internet is available at the house)

  2. A pleasant surprise amidst the wineries

A country i conveniently located not far from town, Mission Creek was a pleasant stop for me and my husband on the drive home from interior BC. We arrived in the evening after a long drive and found the place very homely instantly. After di er, we simply unwinded at the fireplace. There was a great selection of books ranging from Pushkin to Swedish Folk Tales. They used to have animals on the land, but they are gone now. We bought one of the last few remaining sheep skins from them and we are very satisfied with the quality and the price. It is our best souvenir from our trip in fact! Mark prepared breakfast for us and he said after eating the food, my cold will be gone and he is right! He also showed us his scrapbook with pictures of projects in and around the 1905 heritage house, including saving it from being dismantled and moving it from its original site to his land. They used to hold arts and crafts workshops too as can be seen from the stained glass and artworks scattered around the house. All in all, we really enjoyed our brief stay at the i and will definitely stay there again the next time we are in Kelowna.

  3. A real gem in the midst of 'all the same' hotels

     (5 / 5)

We traveled for 2 weeks , stayed in 10 hotels and then, we came to this lovely B&B.nWe thought Mission Creek was a real gem and so different from the run of the mill ‘much the same’ hotels one finds these days. Lovingly restored house, very nice country setting only 10 min drive away from city center. Very charming and helpful hosts, great home cooked breakfast, we can only recommend you go and try for yourselves. Great for larger party, family or with kids too, lots of cute farm animals nearby. Great for us too, because we had the run of the place and loved it.!

  4. A very special place

     (5 / 5)

I got married here one week ago and it was a perfect low-key event in a wonderful setting. We originally chose this place because it looked nice enough and the price was right. However, after spending five days and having my wedding here, I absolutely fell in love with all the little vintage/funky/idyllic details. The back porch is heaven on earth, with the grapevines framing the view of the cows and goats in the hill. We got so many incredible photos. Mark and Amber are very kind, and yes their politics are important to them, which I appreciate. They care about their home and they care about their guests. If you come here expecting TVs and air conditioning (not sure why anyone would expect that if you look at the listing) you’re go a have a bad time and should probably book at the Best Western or something. I can’t wait to come back again.

  5. Perfect for outdoor wedding

     (5 / 5)

We just rented the farmhouse for 5 days, and had an outdoor di er (under canopy) for 30. It worked out perfectly. The bride and groom wanted somewhere that their friends could just hang out, and this was it. Mark and Amber very accommodating and did whatever they could to make the evening special. Amber even trimmed part of the hedge into a heart shape! Rustic, romantic location. Goats and rainbow were a special plus!!

  6. Great family vacation!

     (5 / 5)

My kids and I, my sister and her kids, and my aunt and uncle and their kids rented all 4 bedrooms for two nights for a bit of a family reunion. My other extended family were all able to join us for di er and visiting at the house as we had full access of the kitchen. Everyone loved the house, it is so beautiful! We all felt right at home and the 9 kids loved ru ing around outside and ‘playing’ with the donkey 😉 great value when renting all 4 bedrooms and sharing the cost with family. We can’t wait to return 🙂

  7. Wonderful farm B&B

     (5 / 5)

My 8 year old daughter and I loved everything about Mission Creek Country I . The hosts were very warm and welcoming. Mark and his son took my daughter to feed the chickens and the donkey and even played Frisbee with her. We enjoyed our walks through the sheep pastures to look at the lambs. The breakfast was delicious with ingredients from the farm (homemade grape juice from the grapes by the veranda, waffles, ca ed plums and peaches, and freshly picked cherries from the trees out the front door, sheep sausage and eggs). It doesn’t get any more local than that! The heritage home was saved from tear down, moved from Kelowna to the farm and lovingly restored by Mark and his family. We loved the Mission Creek Area with its farms and vineyards a short drive from downtown Kelowna. The I will stay a family favorite for years to come!

  8. Calm and relaxing with a lot of charm

     (5 / 5)

My wife and I and our two boys (ages 3 and 5) stayed at this I in August 2013. Everything about our stay was terrific. The breakfast was made entirely from local ingredients grown either on the farm or in BC and consisted of fresh fruit, honey, eggs, granola and was delicious. The owners had lots of old fashioned wooden toys for our boys to play with, the house was beautiful and was restored by the owner. The atmosphere at the I was extremely relaxed with great views. The owners were helpful and great with our kids. It was nice to escape busy Kelowna for a nearby retreat on a farm.

  9. Everything about breakfast was amazing!

     (5 / 5)

This was our first time at a bed and breakfast, so not sure how it compares with others. It had lots of character and farm charm. Great location, rural but so close to town. We had the place to ourselves as it was early October and not tourist season. nEverything in our breakfast was straight off the farm. Home made sheep sausage, fresh eggs, grapes, apricots, honey, peaches and it was great.
