Very friendly staff, super clean and comfy rooms. Very cool atmosphere with a sweet VW van! Also smoking friendly with a private roof top smoking deck with an awesome fireplace. We definitely recommend staying here! 10/10

  2. Amazing and Unique!

This was such a fun hotel experience.nnWe usually stay in stuffy expensive places, but found The Zed late at night while driving from Vancouver.nnIt was really fun if you have an open mind and like trying new things, from the yo-yos in the rooms, to the tandem bicycle/rollerskates/skateboards. Not to mention the vinyl.nnThe details and the way they made the hotel resemble something out of the 60s/70s was really well done and really fun.nnGreat vibe. Looking forward to the next time we’re in Kelowna!!

  3. Great Place to stay for all ages

     (5 / 5)

Stayed here in October and loved this place, very colorful and retro. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. Great location near the lake and coffee or tea available in lobby at all times. We are going down tomorrow for another appointment and were happy to book this place again. Great for kids with bunk beds available in some rooms.

  4. Great Location

Stayed at the hotel one night prior to concert at Prospera Place–smaller hotel & rooms but great atmosphere! Rooms are on the smaller size but had king size bed and all the amenities you would need for short stay. Love all the du00e9cor in this hotel–will definitely stay here again–park & beach directly across the street–within walking distance to everything downtown–Loved it! Even got ear plugs and a yoyo for keepsake–Thanks Hotel Zed for a Great Stay!

  5. Short and sweet

We stayed only 1 night at this hotel and it was perfect. The location is awesome what with a lovely park being right across the street and minutes away from cafes and restaurants. There is complimentary coffee available at the reception area with cute postcards and typewriters! The only downside was the limited parking spaces they had.

  6. Wonderfully self-conscious. If you like that sort of thing.

The ‘Hotel’ in the name is a misnomer: in reality this is a 1940/50s motor court re-done in a ‘Citizen M/hostel-style motif. Lots of purples and uber-casual notices, including instructions on how to use the rotary dial phone. Providing your guests with ear plugs can give an unsettled feeling to your guests’ first moments in the (small) room. But having said that, the night was quiet and the bed very comfortable.nnThere are bikes or longboards to rent and the motel is located across the road from the beach and within walking distance of the downtown bars and restaurants (hence a price higher than other motels stuck out on the highway) The multi-coloured make-over is, in fairness, more than a slap of paint, everything seemed to have been re-done. Cynical old fogies might prefer one of the chains..but I left satisfied. I got a good bed and a great location.

  7. Funky, quirky and colourful. Excellent location.

A really good reworking of an old motel giving it a new u201cretrou201d life. Colourful, functional rooms which are clean and well-presented. We had a small kitchenette facility which we appreciated so that we could do our own simple breakfast (having tired of the large Canadian cooked ones!)nnIt would have been nice to have been able to open a window for fresh air in the room at night … but no windows opened.nnThe location was perfect – a minute from the lakeside, opposite a park, and everything else just around the corner.nnThey offer little extras like ping-pong, coffee freely available in reception, comic books, yo-yos … but a washer and drier for guest use would be nice!

  8. Lots of fun, centrally located, pet friendly

I’d recommend this place for anyone, of any age, especially those weary of corporate chain hotels. Staff are very friendly and helpful! We are budget travelers, for the most part, so this is a bit of a splurge. We are really enjoying the Canadian Okanogan, and hip Kelowna!

  9. Family friendly and well-located

Hotel ZED is an old motor hotel that someone has jazzed up with bright paint and colourful furniture. Our room was clean and bright but showed it’s origins, being a bit small with the single motor-hotel type window facing the parking lot. That’s not a complaint, the place has been nicely fixed up. We only stayed one night prior to flying home and the location was great, right across the road from Kelowna’s waterfront park and around the corner from their downtown shopping street. It would be a fun place to stay with teens, as there were bikes and rollerblades, ping-pong, a small pool…

  10. Not worth the price.

     (3 / 5)

Location was perfect. Right across from the park and lake. Super close to awesome bars and restaurants. We were disappointed by the price for the quality we got. This is not a 4 star hotel by any means- it is a glorified 3 star motel. There was suppose to be a triathlon on during the weekend so I think that made the price go up. Upon arrival the room smelt like mildew. The sheets and covers were not hotel grade. We had to ask for a blow dryer-they don’t stock the room. We were on the ground floor, we had people banging on our windows in the middle of the night (I think this is because there are several nightclubs nearby) and since this is a motel there is no privacy at our entrance. This being said, the staff was super friendly and accommodating.
