  1. good cider on a family run orchard!

came along here after watching our g’son play in a soccer jamboree in summerland. a sunny afternoon, we were the only ones here. rustic, a down earth working farm, a country setting, which i quite like. pretty cool to read their story. 3 friends started the dominion cider co. because ‘they wanted to create something from scratch, with their hands, on land that they steward’. the name comes from the dominion experimental farms that stretches from coast to coast. many apple orchards have been replaced by vineyards and this orchard is bring back the heritage apples. they do everything by hand at their orchard. i quite liked their cider, crisp and lightly fruity. i find the labels fun, nostalgia art. plain and basic tasting room, much like the vineyards years ago before so many of them have redesigned to a high end decor. when i went online i was surprised how many locations carry their product, in vancouver and area and the fraser valley, vancouver island and the kootenays besides the okanagan. i wish them well and i’ll keep an eye out for those fun bottles when i go shopping for cider! a fun spot and a great story!
