  1. Pre-Christmas getaway

     (5 / 5)

The room is so spacious it could fit 4-5 people. Kitchen has almost everything but no cooking oil or condiment. Cleanliness is great. No complaints for shower/toilet either. The room is upstairs (mezzanine). nStaff is simply amazing. Super friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

  2. Perfect ski vacation hotel

     (5 / 5)

This truly almost everything you want from a ski vacation hotel. The location was perfect, right in the village, close to markets, bars, restaurants, and the ski lifts of course. Easy underground parking.nThe room itself was a nice mountain style design, everything in good condition, very clean, attractive and cosy! A great feature which would encourage me to come back was the fully equipped kitchen, which I would say is not typical of hotels. It would make for an affordable long vacation, being able to prepare your own meals.nStaff were friendly and helpful – I appreciate the late check out!nOnly 2 slightly negative things: [1] space is pretty limited if you need the fold out sofa – once folded out there’s no sitting area available. Even with it folded up, things were a little tight; [2] a continental breakfast is always a bonus. But all in all, very satisfied, and it would be first on my list if I were to return!

  3. Perfect location at Big White

     (5 / 5)

My partner and I recently spent a week snowboarding at Big White and stayed at the Chateau Big White. The location of the hotel was excellent, with several restaurants and the supermarket and liquor store within metres of the hotel. I was a little concerned that the bars close by would be a bit noisy but we never really had any problems. It is also right next to the top of the Plaza Chair and a ski run that ends at the plaza where you can access chairlifts that go all the way up the mountain. nWe stayed in a studio apartment which had all of the amenities we needed including a small kitchen, ensuite and space to dry out our ski gear. The gas fire was also much appreciated after a day on the slopes. nHotel staff were very helpful and assisted us numerous times with various things throughout our stay. If anything, housekeeping were too helpful, as they left us care packages when we asked for our room not to be serviced which meant that we ended up with a lot of extra shampoo bottles etc. We did appreciate how thorough and generous they were though! nPackaging our lift passes, rentals and shuttle bus with our accommodation through Central Reservations meant that everything was ready for us in advance and went very smoothly

  4. Pleasently surprised

     (4 / 5)

-Perfectly situated. Literally ski right out the ski storage room or get off the chairlift and 10 steps to get inside.n-25 feet from the market/grocery store/pizza place. A great restaurant and bar on the premises.n-The staff is super friendly and wil go out of their way to satisfy your needs.n-Laundry facilities at a paltry 50 cents a cycle.n-Cozy, well appointed rooms. -Place is a little dated.n-Room was too warm with the heat turned off and the windows open our entire stay!n-Horrible pillows.

  5. Central location

     (4 / 5)

I stayed here with my husband for 9 nights. We were upgraded to a larger room due to a booking error. We did not need the extra bedroom but found it ideal for storing our ski bags during our stay. The kitchen was well equipped and the grocery store was located opposite the building. The location is great and the staff are very friendly. The only negative I can say is that we were on the village side which was a little noisy at night and we could hear the noise coming from Snowshoe Sams every night until about 1:00 am even with the windows closed. I would definitely stay there again but would ask for a room on the other side.

  6. Great position

     (3 / 5)

This place has a great position, and is very handy for everything – decent restaurants, the shops, the ski centre and the lifts. It’s also efficiently run. But it’s quite soulless and rather tatty around the edges, and I did not like the bedroom set-up where the beds folded up into the wall. A space saving feature and useful if you are staying in a large group in a room perhaps, but as far as comfort is concerned the beds left a great deal to be desired. The rooms are also rather dark, and not very well lit. On the positive side, there was a good coffee-making machine in the room, and there was plenty of space to set up my computer etc. The kitchen area was also very well equipped, there was plenty of room to hang stuff and get wet things dry. The ski room was easy accessible too.

  7. Ski in ski out, large room, fully equipped what more could you want, oh yes, hot tub!

     (4 / 5)

Perfect location in the heart of the village but not noisy at all. Very clean, ample sleeping areas, we counted 11 beds including sofa and fold ups. The kitchen was brilliantly equipped with oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, coffee maker.nIt’s worth taking the shuttle bus to the mall/supermarket to stock up on food (runs twice a week I think for about 15 dollars each), as the on site shop is fairly limited and quite expensive. Take an empty hold-all or suitcase as everything gets packed in the hold of the coach so can get flung around if not packed safely. Very warm, sometimes it was a relief to get out of there! The bathrooms were well replenished with nutrogena travel bottles of shampoo conditioner soap and shower gel, daily. nHousekeeping were fine, a little inconsistent but no cause for complaint. There are laundry facilities in the basement, dirt cheap a few coins and big machines so you only need to do one or two loads. Washing powder can be bought from reception. nThe kids loved it, and it was nice having three living areas for a little bit of breathing space.

  8. Great location, good basic accommodation

     (4 / 5)

My husband and I came to ski Big White and stayed 4 nights at the Chateau. We did not need much and found this spot suit us just fine. Great location – super close to everything. It was quiet, comfortable and cosy. We would stay again.

  9. Convenient Great Location

     (4 / 5)

I studied the map of the Village and layout of the facility for hours and still wasn’t sure it was going to be the best location in the Village and in the hotel. We stayed in room 320 and loved where our room was located. Once we got there and boarded a few days, we were quite pleased as my wife and I both agree it was the best location in the Village for ski in ski out and convenience. Also the Chateau Big White is a stones throw to the Villages Market that stocks an amazing variety of whatever you might need and 4 restaurants. There are 4-5 other restaurants and food outlets within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Also there’s Lara’s gondola within 5 minutes walk that takes you down to Happy Valley with more activities and restaurants. Our room was fairly roomy and clean. The furnishings and decor was adequate. The housekeeping staff worked very hard everyday to keep our room clean and stocked. All staff was polite and helpful. Ski/board lockers were convenient and safe. We visited the hot tub a few times and was a bit small but met some really nice people from all over the world. Our only complaint was the bed and pillows. I don’t think either of us had a good nights sleep for 7 nights. My wife usually can sleep anywhere but she even had trouble sleeping. One other criticism is the placement of the TV. We both like to put the TV on timer and hopefully fall asleep. Their controller didn’t have that feature. We had to cock our heads to watch TV from bed. Not the best layout. Only a few times did i hear noise from upstairs and on Saturday night we heard loud drunken outside noise. Nothing to bark about but I can imagine if it was a noisy family upstairs with kids ru ing around. Overall though we enjoyed the resort and location of Chateau Big White. Suggestion: Book through Big White Resort. The 5 nights, two night free is a nice savings and was even better with the US to CAD dollar exchange. This gave us our first ski in ski out accommodations and loved every minute of it!

  10. clean comfortable hotel in a great location

     (3 / 5)

4 of us stayed at the Chateau and loved the location and access to the mountain. Clean rooms, spacious with kitchen. Great for location but if you like fancy or 5 star this isn’t it but its a solid 3+ star.
