Being in the middle of the orchard and winery is a special unforgettable experience. The restaurant is first class and not expensive for the food quality and selection. Reply TripAdvisor Amazing, As Always (5 / 5) on January 25, 2019 We stop in at Burrowing Owl every time we visit the Okanagan. Their tasting room is lovely. Their approach is casual. And, the wines are extremely good. Their reds, in particular, are wonderful. This year, we bought some Merlot and Cab Franc at the begi ing of the season, and several bottles of Meritage during our end of season / fall trip. We don’t usually spent $50 per bottle on wine, but the Meritage was so good, we treated ourselves! The tasting fee is $5, which is not deducted when you buy wine. Instead, it is donated to a wildlife group to help save burrowing owls. Very cool! Reply TripAdvisor Gorgeous estate (5 / 5) on January 25, 2019 I visited this winery for the first time and I fell in love with the place! It has one of the most spectacular views in the area with fabulous bistro. Their wines are amazing, no doubt on that one. I like that they are doing a lot for the environment, for instance they are using solar panels which also help in generating hot water for the hot tub, they donate the wine tasting fee to preserve the burrowing owls in the area, they use the stems and other left over from the wine making process as compost etc. I got to know all of this from the wine tour. nDefinitely worth a visit. Reply TripAdvisor Unbelievable visit and favourite wine (5 / 5) on January 25, 2019 Stayed for three days while touring the area. The guest house is quiet and relaxing. All suites overlook the pool and winery. First the room. We were welcomed with a very friendly staff and checked in quickly. We weren’t just given our keys but escorted to our room! We were shown a few things and explained the included breakfast. The room is huge – king bed, sitting area and a balcony. There’s a massive bathroom and a walk in closet. It’s certainly easy to settle right in. There’s a complimentary bottle of wine, quality wine glasses and to top it all off, a cheese board and knives! There’s everything you need for a picnic by the pool too, including a plastic carafe and wine glasses. This is a well equipped room. We had some cheeses and drinks from our trip and it was great that we were able to use the mini fridge in the room. The pool is so nice. It’s not heated and it was wonderful with the 30 degree weather. There are tables and lots of loungers. I was told the pool would be closed in early May but it was filled and ready! The shop has really nice gifts, cheeses and crackers plus all tte wine. You can have wine shipped to your house for $20 a case. Well worth it since their wines are hard to find in Ontario. I’ve also just called and ordered a case! The di er was great both nights. Service was excellent. The chefs blind menu was such a great deal – you will want the wine pairing. The included breakfast was also incredible. Food quality was very good. Even had homemade rhubarb crumble made by the woman in charge of breakfast – just because she had too much rhubarb at home. Make sure do the tower self tour while you are there. Lots of great info without touring the facility. Finally all the staff are wonderful. Even the pool maintenance person was great to chat with with. Reply TripAdvisor WOW, better than expected! (5 / 5) on January 25, 2019 We have been travelling to the Osoyoos/Oliver area for many years, staying at competitor year after year. We have always wanted to try staying at Burrowing Owl and now that our kids are old enough not to travel with us, this was our chance. Well, I don’t think we will be returning to the ‘other’ resort any time soon. The Rooms are large and lovely, only 10 of them so it is very quiet and SOOO peaceful. Beautiful breakfast is included every day. The service in both the hotel and the winery was really very good, Lorna took very good care of us and really the service was top notch! I think I have got used to substandard service in Osoyoos and have now seen the light! Love the pool walk out rooms, and the pool itself was refreshing and never crowded. We will certainly be back for this very grown up and lovely holiday! Reply TripAdvisor Great hotel!! (5 / 5) on January 25, 2019 Great hotel! Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. The hotel was gorgeous and the rooms along with all facilities were impressively well put together. Highly recommended for a romantic getaway or simply for a good wine tasting experience. Reply TripAdvisor Beautiful but not Amazing (4 / 5) on January 25, 2019 Burrowing Owl Winery is beautiful, with beautiful views, and great food. There are only 10 rooms, beautifully appointed and comfortable. The cons: Front desk staff is a bit weird, and they are never there! So there is no one to speak to (For example, if you want to ask for a late check out, or order food–nobody is there to answer–goes to voicemail). The food was delicious, but overpriced for what you get. Although the charcuterie platter is one of the best we’ve ever had. Last, but not least, the pool area is not serviced. We had our pool towels out (we were a group of 6), and a few hours later, our towels were not there. They have a small stack of towels available by the pool entry, but there were none left there, either. Once again, no staff to ask for a towel–a bit weird for the calibre of hotel. Reply TripAdvisor Didnu2019t do the tasting (4 / 5) on January 25, 2019 The winery estate is beautiful; with a tasting lounge, guest house ($350 a night, ouch) which has a pool, and a restaurant. Gorgeous views all around. We had just eaten lunch at The Sonora Room and paid $13 for a glass of their wine, so we decided to not pay for the tasting. The tour of the tower is interesting and well worth doing, and the work they do for the owls is great! Thank you. Reply TripAdvisor Great wines (5 / 5) on January 25, 2019 Gorgeous location, view was amazing . We really enjoyed the tasting and the wines. The lady who served us was very knowledgeable and engaging! nThe hotel looks lovely, nice pool . Absolutely love that tasting revenue go to the burrowing Owl conversation society Purchase a few bottles and some local souvenirs Reply TripAdvisor Very good wine & sight ! (5 / 5) on January 25, 2019 It’s a must, the sight is magical. The wine is very good. We purchase a box to be delivered at home for a very affordable price. The people who was serving and other people from room service chat with us and we had a very good time. They also offered to the kids a drink too in a nice glass (without alcool as well)nLoved it.
