Well, this is going to be an interesting review. First let me say that the service here is excellent and the staff are very friendly here which was the only reason I gave it 3 out of 5 otherwise this motel is a 2 at most. I can honestly say I have never stayed at a worse motel in my life. Which is sad because this place has so much potential. The good:n- the staff are friendly, helpful and informativen- the in room Shaw WiFi is excellent and fast, faster than most bigger chains I’ve stayed in!n- the location was excellent for us as it was just around the corner from the Okanagan Events Centern- it is easy to find and close to several restaurants like De y’s a sushi place and an Italian restaurant Now sadly for the bad….n- the rooms are extremely dated, like we are talking purple toilets, showers and sinksn- the shower was kind of like being in a misting sprinkler or something, just not good at alln- the beds are horrible and uncomfortablen- the towels are very old and smell pretty funkyn- the room was relatively clean but I could see areas that had been missed or a lack of attention to cleaning details. An example would be the bedside table was covered in dustn- when I opened my blanket and sheets I was greeted by a very large spider that had to be killed, perhaps some insect control is required here as well Overall I would likely not stay here again unless some major improvements are made.

  2. Black Forest Motel

We came here for a Bachelorette.nSo we choose somewhere close to the water and restaurants.nAlso looking for lower cost and a place we were less likely to get in trouble for making a little noise. This place worked out fine for the above. The beds and pillows were unbearable.nOur group were fighting over sleeping on the couch as it was more comfortable.n(had two rooms) The room had a mini fridge and microwave which were helpful.

  3. Older motel in a good location

Although in need of a major facelift, the Black Forest is fine for a short stay. The rooms are large, and come equipped with a good fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and great air conditioning- much needed on the August long weekend in Penticton! We were on the lower floor, so the foot traffic above us was rather loud, but we didn’t hear any other noise. Todd, the manager, was friendly and helpful, and after a bit of confusion over our reservations, even gave us some dishes and cutlery for our breakfasts, as we had though we had booked a kitchen unit. ot fancy, but OK in a pinch. Clean with comfortable beds.
