  1. Great place to stay

Came back from our 5-day stay at Barefoot Beach Resort. my experience wasn’t anything like the negative once you read below. We really enjoyed our trip. We rented 2 tenting sites side by side and shared the space. We really like the setup of the campsite because there is a nice concrete circle road inside the camp site where kids can ride their bikes and their scooters, as well as friendly neighbors who also keep an eye out for the young ones. There are short-term rentals as long as long-term rentals so there’s a good mix of people who’ve been there for a while and people who are looking to get away for a vacation with either family or friends. Something has to be said about the private beach which is across the street. I really enjoyed our time there, from the fitness center that is right on the beach to the stage and community feel that that area provides is amazing. Two or three days of our trip we spent an over 7 hours just hanging out on the beach lounging in the water playing water sports, we didn’t even notice the time go by. The washrooms we’re a little dirty, but my expectations are not as high as the rest because I understand that we are tenting and that it is a full Resort, as a result the fact that they tried to keep up with maintaining it was good enough for me. I had warm showers and a toilet for every time I need to use the washroom with toilet paper. We brought our own propane fire pit and enjoyed ourselves until 11am. one thing that is new from this year is that the allow you to park your cars overnight in the Tent area. I actually like that idea made it easier to access items and store things, but there are a lot of people who did not like that idea like that long-term residents who made their opinions clear to us.. We also enjoy the shops and restaurants on the property everything from the Mexican restaurant to the angry vegan restaurant it’s awesome. We are looking forward to returning next year.

  2. Summer Break with a 4 year old

We choose to stay in the yurt but had some concerns after reading the reviews. I can say without hesitation that I am not sure where the reviews came from because we had a great stay. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to serve us. The yurt, grounds and beach were clean and beautiful! The little Mexican restaurant was so good. We will for sure be back. Only comment I would state is if you stay in the yurt bring a big fan to help cool down…

  3. Good experience

The shaded camping area was nice, although tenting was like being in a big field camping next to strangers it was not so bad. The bathrooms were not as awesome as I expected. They were a little rough in the morning. The airport is next to the campground as was a little loud because of the helicopters taking off to fight fires. The restaurant the skaha beach club was amazing! I was told there won’t be tenting here next year though.

  4. Great stay

I just bought a motorhome and thought it would be fun to play tourist in my hometown Penticton. nI booked a spot at Barefoot for the July long weekend and was pleasantly surprised. From previous reviews I had read, I was worried that there would be a ton of noise, but all was pretty quiet at night. The beach did seem a bit more rowdy, but I wasn’t staying on the beach so it was fine. We were warned about noise upon arrival which I thought was good as they were letting people know about their policies upon arrival They have fire pits along the beach, it was nice and we made some new friends. nThey have a great dog beach. The motorhome facilities are nice. Full hook ups and drive through sites, no a oying backing up. The property is also landscaped very nice. The only downfall is the price, it is quite a bit more expensive than other camp sites, and wood for the fire pits cost $15.00!!
