Avalon Inn

Avalon Inn

Welcome to the Avalon Inn, located in the heart of downtown Osoyoos, British Columbia. Just across the street from Tim Horton’s, and a five minute walk away from the shores of Osoyoos Lake, this family owned motel can assure you a good night’s rest. Although we are located just off Main Street / Highway 3, we offer one of the quietest accommodations in the community as each classically furnished room is soundproofed for your privacy and peace of mind. Here you have access to free Wi-Fi internet, cable TV with free movie channels, and a refrigerator and coffee maker in each room. We are within just two minutes of walking distance from a number of restaurants in the area – everything from casual to fine dining – though if you plan on creating your own home-cooked meals, we have fully equipped kitchen suites just for you. There are also barbecue facilities located in our lush courtyard, where you can lay back in the sun or relax under the shade of the maple trees while listening to birds chirping away cheerfully. Most of our rooms are pet-friendly, as long as you have non-shedding/non-allergenic pets! Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park is less than 3 km away, and the Osoyoos Golf & Country Club is a 5 minute drive from the motel. We don’t have much of a lake-view of Osoyoos Lake from our balcony suites, although we do have good views of Peanut Lake which is quite close to the motel.

  1. Lovely quiet I in central position

     (5 / 5)

Spent 4 nights here, had a really great room with kitchen, looks quite new, very comfortable. Near to all restaurants and a good place to tour around the area, especially as we did, to do lots of wine sampling in the area.We were on the first floor of the separate block, this was quiet and overlooking the mobile homes at the rear. Friendly locals too.Would highly recommend.

  2. Quiet place with a Mexican feel to it.

The room was clean and comfortable and thankfully had A/C. It was not especially warm but it was very smokey while we were there. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed a good night sleep while there.

  3. Not flash but great for a night or 2

     (4 / 5)

We stopped at this property as we always do,on a recent motorcycle trip through the area. As per usual we got what we paid for… a comfortable bed, quiet location, safe parking and walking distance to all that Osoyoos offers including great restaurants. There is new owners.

  4. Confy room, close to downtown, friendly people

     (4 / 5)

We stayed on the second floor in May, the room was comfortable and well appointed. The Hotel is in walking distance of everything: restaurants, Post Office, groceries even a Dollar store close by. You can walk to the Lake in less than 10 minutes. Thank you Phil and Darin, we will be back!nRay

  5. Clean room and friendly staff

Check-in was breeze and we got a ground room floor as requested. Not much of a view, but several restaurants within walking distance. Disappointed the ice machine was not working during our visit. Would recommend to others.

  6. A Good, Clean, Basic Motel

     (4 / 5)

At the Avalon I you get what you pay for. A good, clean basic motel. It is not a 4 star resort, but it is not trying to be. I rented a room with separate bedroom and a living area / kitchen. It had a private balcony at the back which was one of it’s nicest features as it allowed for delightful air flow and I was able to leave the door open all night. I was on the second floor. If there was a weak point, it was the bed. The one in the room is old and badly in need of replacing. New pillows would be nice too.

As many have stated before me…’average’ fits. There’s no bells or whistles but if you’re looking for a place to stay for a night or two this will take care of what you need and it won’t break the bank. It’s easy to find on the west side of Osoyoos so if you are road tripping it’s either on your way in or out. nMy interaction with the staff was fine–the young man behind the desk was polite, accommodating and efficient. Our room was booked through Hotels.com and we had no issues.

  8. Great choice for a one night stay but no longer

     (3 / 5)

My wife stayed at this motel again this year on our recent motorcycle trip. Its clean, affordable, centrally located and okay for a one night stop. However if you’re heading to this area for a multiple day family holiday this property probably wouldn’t suit your needs unless all you were interested in was the affordable room rate. It’s a fairly long walk to the beach especially for kids and the elderly.

  9. Average

     (3 / 5)

A typical motel. Clean room, friendly staff, good wifi signal. Nothing special or exciting, but it does the job as a place to stay for the night. A decent location close to a few restaurants and walking distance to the beach. It’s a relatively new place but for some reason they seem to have decorated as if it was twenty or thirty years older than it is. Not a big deal, but it could use some modernization. The price is high considering the quality and amenities but that’s a factor of supply and demand in a busy summer destination. A couple of negatives: n- The ‘courtyard’ promoted on some of the motel’s marketing materials is really just a bit of grass and trees in the middle of the parking lot, directly beside the highway. n- The parking lot is small. A couple of times during our stay there were no spaces left in the lot in the evening. Overall, I would stay here again if necessary, but would probably take a good look at other places first.
