  1. Good pub meal

     (5 / 5)

Just what we wanted as we broke our travels for a night in Armstrong. Good pub food and beer surrounded by local people in a friendly family atmosphere. And lots of interesting sailing and ship related items to look at in the decor.

  2. Good Pub Food

One of the few places Armstrong open late and almost always good food. The outdoor patio gets the western sun and is very nice on warm days with trees and umbrellas. The maritime decor is really nice as well. Beer selection is average, no local microbreweries are represented. I eat here at least once a month.

  3. Great food and service is excellent

I organized a group of 40 guests for an open menu dinner, although there were dinner specials. Autumn was our server and she did an excellent job, no errors and no complaints from anyone in our large group. We will certainly go back again. Thanks to the chef and all the help making our gathering a hugh success, Monique

  4. Ship decor highlight of this pub.

Best fish and chips in the valley. Amazing mariner decor including tall ship setting. Nice country town. Lots of antique shops and annual,PNE fair.

  5. Friday for wings and beer

     (4 / 5)

Met a friend for beer and wings here yesterday evening. Not a lot of TVs but enough if you want to watch a game. The atmosphere was fine – not particularly busy, and the theme was nautical. Service was average and menu was typical pub fare. We had planned to go for wings and beer but the special was a pound of wings and truffle fries so we both ordered that. The wings were breaded and came with 4 sauces on the side and was pretty good. I am a fan of wings served this way so that you can sample multiple flavors. The truffle fries were a real treat with the garlic and parmesan toppings. The beer was a bit pricier than most places and the selection was fairly limited. Ideally, I would have given a rating of 3.5 stars but rounded up to 4 since 3 seems overly harsh since I would go back and have the same meal again or try something new. Overall, it was a typical pub experience.

  6. Super meal in nice surroundings!!

We had a lovely meal at this quaint restaurant. It is a little hard to find as the restaurant is set back from the road and has high foliage and the parking lot in front. But it is worth looking for. The serving staff were nice also.

  7. Great place for a latr night nibble

     (4 / 5)

Hubby and I were on our way back from Kelowna airport when we decided to stop in for a late night bite to eat. We had our adult son with us and were desperately hungry. Stopped in at the Anchor Inn and were not disappointed. Food was fresh and hot and we had great service. Would highly recommend the Anchor Inn.

  8. Nice Setting

Went there with a friend for supper and a beer. Steak sandwich was cooked to perfection but my friend said his lobster mac and cheese could have used more cheese. Very quiet when we were there but found staff to be very friendly. Cost of meal was very reasonable for what we had.
